Polution in the air, Air pollution

In everyday life, we are exposed to different kinds of environmental pollutions and most commonly the air pollutions which are always present and becoming more prevailing in the atmosphere nowadays. Some of them are visible in our naked eyes in the form of smoke which can be seen in the air (Greenhouse Gases )or mostly can be seen in the traffic highways and roads emitted from motor vehicles or cars. Some other visible pollution in the environment are present in the polluted water and the likes. But some of these harmful pollutions are invisible in our naked eye. And now, the major concern is that these harmful pollutions can cause negative impacts in our overall health in general.

The harmful effects of air pollutions in human body in either internal of external:

These pollutions can cause::

  • Lung cancer = a disease cause by air pollution
  • Bronchitis and asthma = and some other chronic respiratory diseases
  • Eye irritation = = cause by some other gaseous pollutant
  • Skin aging
  • Heart Diseases
  • Damage to the nervous system
  • And many more

We are already aware about these issues, and these issues are unavoidable in our life since we are living now in this modern pace of time.  And technologies now are fast advancing and we are still to expect for something new to come as a result of this advancing technologies.

Even if we are exposed to doing exercise and physical activities everyday, still we are also exposed to these harmful and inhalable substances in the air which can cause harmful effects to our health and can jeopardize our healthy living.

So then, what shall we do now!!!!!! Of course if there are harmful substances which can cause harmful effect to our bodies, there are also substances which can provide beneficial effects to our bodies and can boost our healthy being. And because of this, The word antioxidant comes in to play.

Antioxidants are essential nutrients or substances coming from healthy foods, such as vegetables, fruits, grain, fish, eggs, etc. Antioxidants are known substances which can neutralize or prevent the harmful effect of free-radicals or toxic substances.

Based on Wikipedia.org about antioxidant = http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antioxidant

An antioxidant is a molecule capable of inhibiting the oxidation of other molecules. Oxidation is a chemical reaction that transfers electrons or hydrogen from a substance to an oxidizing agent. Oxidation reactions can produce free radicals. In turn, these radicals can start chain reactions. When the chain reaction occurs in a cell, it can cause damage or death to the cell. When the chain reaction occurs in a purified monomer, it produces a polymer resin, such as a plastic, a synthetic fiber, or an oil paint film. Antioxidants terminate these chain reactions by removing free radical intermediates, and inhibit other oxidation reactions. They do this by being oxidized themselves, so antioxidants are often reducing agents such as thiols, ascorbic acid, or polyphenols. ...
